 37 Down Answer: Slacks Slacks.  Now that is a word that I haven’t heard in a long time.  I do remember when jeans were dungarees and dressier pants were slacks.  

 I was happy to see a new documentary about Abraham Lincoln on Netflix.  He was a great and good president and very important in the history of our country and the ending of slavery in our country.  I thought it would be a very worthwhile thing to watch and I really do have an interest in history now that I didn’t have as a younger person.  I thought it would be a great choice for something to watch that I could learn from that would be something to focus on other than our countries current nightmare situation with Donald Trump.  I guess I wasn’t really thinking about the reality of Abraham Lincoln’s connection with the Civil War. 😳 It’s not exactly an easy or uplifting topic and there is no story about the life of Abraham Lincoln that isn’t deeply connected with the civil war.  He did not live during a politically easy time or have an easy presidential experience.  And slavery is indeed a most dark part of our countries history.   I’m not sorry ...

 This does not sound like a good turn of events.

 I never knew before today, but the Ross stores have a 10% off senior discount on Tuesdays for people age 55+.  I only found out when I got home today and looked at my receipt and saw that I had received a 10% off senior discount.  I obviously clearly looked like I belong in this category. 🫤 Actually, I remember being given a 55+ discount somewhere, that I had not requested, back before I even turned 50.  That was 10 years ago! 😯  I’m not really complaining.  I’m happy for the discount at places that offer this.  I should pay more attention and look up if any other places offer senior discount days at 55+ so I don’t miss out!

 I made myself a thorough to-do list so that I could remember everything that I need to accomplish.  Now my to-do list has gone missing and I can’t find it!   It is not where I believed I left it.  I can’t believe that despite all my work and efforts at being organized, my to-do list is actually missing. 🫨🙄 I guess I can’t worry about everything on my to-do list now that I can’t even find it. 🤦‍♀️. Is the universe trying to teach me something or what? 🤷‍♀️ Maybe I need to just go with the flow and not worry about everything to the point that it impacts my ability to just focus on and tend to the tasks and necessities of the day and moment. (This has been a struggle of mine for a long time.). It’s hard though, not to worry about stuff that I know I have procrastinated doing.  Oh, woe is me, I know.  It’s not easy to be a human being.

 America Es Muy Bueno.  I guess I am having a Spanish language moment.  I don’t even know if those are words that would be used together in the Spanish language.  America is very good.  That is the lovely phrase I heard myself thinking.  I just thought of those words and they felt like a positive message about the United States of America.  

 These are such contradictory messages from “President” Trump.  I wasn’t going to write or share anything here today about Donald Trump, but then in my infinite wisdom, I decided that I should.   🙄 I just thought of a message that I have for Mr. Trump.  “It’s okay to not win.  Life is full of things of value and meaning that don’t involve winning in the sense that you take it to mean.  Winning has many meanings that have nothing to do with being a victor over others or money.” I feel sorry for any person who is trapped in a mental mindset that doesn’t allow them to understand these kind of things.

 Even easy crossword puzzles are good for remembering and learning new vocabulary words.  I wasn’t familiar with the word alee.  I also discovered that the word alee is missing from dictionary.com as is aweather. .

  I just had a thought about my large book collection.  I have collected so many books from different sources through the years.  I suppose it really doesn’t matter if there are many that I don’t ever get around to reading in my lifetime.  It makes me happy to know that I have them.  There aren’t many that I have read and finished as soon as I have had them.  It has happened though. I have read a good portion of “Melania” but I have struggled to prioritize finishing it.  Can I get partial credit for what I did read?

 The president of the United States of America has shared this on his social media (along with numerous other crazy images) and yet nothing will be done to remove him from office.  It is like we are living in some crazy novel or movie, but it is reality.  The United States of America still functions normally at the level of its people, but the federal government is off the deep end.  The man who started a war to supposedly save America and the world from the threat of nuclear war from another country is in fact threatening that country with nuclear war.  This is the man who believes he deserves and should have received the Nobel Peace Prize.  This is the definition of insanity.  This shit can’t end soon enough.

I have long noticed that Donald Trump describes himself in his condemnations of others.

 I must confess this really had me cracking up.  It’s just too silly to take seriously.  It’s one of those, Trump is so ridiculous you have to laugh, moments. I’m reminded of this game.
