American Express & Coinbase Credit Card

 This is my advice to others in regard to American Express credit cards.  Don’t use American Express credit cards!  Their Customer Service absolutely sucks!  I don’t mean the individual customer service agents.  I mean the company’s policy and system of how they are willing to provide Customer Support.  This includes both the level and ease of use of their system as well as what they provide to their customers to assist them and resolve customer issues.  The proof of a company’s Customer Service is in the pudding and I found my American Express card’s customer service to be of little help whatsoever and to have a policy of not actually offering resolution to any issues.  It was almost as though they had employed an ingenious system to make it almost impossible for customers to actually obtain any assistance or customer support.  What you get is an online chat assistant who claims to be happy and ready to help you in resolving any issues.  Then what you get is just obstacles and their system not working until you are ultimately transferred to some specialist team where you are given a ticket number and told that your issue will be looked into with the reassurance that you will hear back by email at sometime in the future from anywhere from 7 to 10 to 90 days.  I can only imagine that any such email if received will only lead to some convoluted continuation of the system of not receiving any customer support or resolution of any issues.

This is based on my own experience with the particular American Express card that I have been a customer of. 

If American Express doesn’t back and offer any guarantee of the level of support offered to customers of any versions of their credit cards, then American Express is not a major credit card issuer that can be trusted in.

And this is enough review of American Express for me. Or Coinbase and their credit card.  (Well, actually, they do deserve a review, but I highly doubt that there is even a place to leave one in their system.)  It’s not worth using the card just to get bitcoin rewards.  There are numerous places where a person could acquire bitcoin without all the headache and hassle and loss of money which could have purchased a lot more bitcoin elsewhere than was received from the credit cards bitcoin rewards.
