They Cheered

During Trump’s rally in Nebraska on Monday evening of this week, his supporters clapped and cheered when he suggested that Iran could take out the city of Los Angeles or San Diego and it would be a small price to pay.  The people clapped and cheered when Mr. Trump suggested that Iran could bomb and destroy an American city and its people and it would be insignificant and a small price to pay.  They are puppets.  It seems they don’t really think about or process anything he says at all.  They have shut off their brains, and they are just his faithful cult followers.  They just want to believe in and follow their leader and nothing that he ever says or does will matter or cause them to waiver in their devotion and support.  I don’t understand these people and I perhaps never will.

If Mr. Trump had even a small fraction of a filter left about what he says, he seems to even be losing that.  He is just saying what he truly feels and thinks about things.  The man who has deployed troops to American cities (including Los Angeles) to supposedly solve their crime issues and make them safe again is speaking of an act of mass violence and destruction against a city or cities as being not a big deal in the greater scheme of things.  The people of these cities are the people of his own country that he was elected to serve and protect.  If he doesn’t think that they serve him however, they are expendable to him.  People loving and serving him and his interests is the only thing that he is really all about.  No one else matters or has value to him.

Anyone who trusts this man to be in their corner and to care about their interests is a fool.  He cares about you only so long as you serve him.

Update:  I am updating this to add that I truly hope that most Americans will not vote in the midterm elections for those who support Trump.

Update: It is possible that I could have misinterpreted what Donald Trump was saying and meant, along with everyone else, because his speech isn’t exactly always coherent or easy to follow and understand.  Coming from a man who has previously made threats about a whole civilization dying or having to be destroyed, words like that don’t sound or seem like they have a benign meaning.  If he was talking about a potential threat that Iran could pose to our country, why would he choose to name two cities in California, a state that he is not fond of.  It did sound as though he was enthusiastic about the idea rather than concerned about the well-being of San Diego or Los Angeles.

I just re-watched the clip from Trump’s Nebraska rally.  He actually said “They could take out a city.  Let them take out Los Angeles, let them take out San Diego.  This is a very small price to pay.”
