The 21st Century & Older People & Politics

 The 21st-century demands a lot of older people in the way of keeping up with new technologies and ways of doing things.  For example, creating and using digital wallets on phones and things like having to switch to paying bills through the my synchrony app.  There are also always new things cropping up like using passkeys to log into various sites instead of usernames and passwords.  Things are always changing and it just never ends and it’s hard to find time to keep up with and understand everything.  Nonetheless, yesterday, I was working on paying bills and trying to keep track of everything with my usernames and passwords and so forth.  I do make use of auto pay so that I don’t miss anything and get ridiculous late fees, but I still like to pay things in between so I keep up on it and things don’t build up.   I was working on bills last night and it’s never something that I want to spend my time doing, but it was actually a good thing.  You know times are kind of screwy when bill paying is a good distraction.  Later on, I realized that it felt quite nice to be focused on something else and to not be thinking about all the crazy political shit going on right now.  I’m really fortunate that I’m able to pay my bills and that I can feel good about it.  I know so many people are struggling a lot more at this time.  Anyway, the crazy political shit is just going to be out of control between now and the midterm elections.  I realized last night that not overly paying attention to it all, at this time, is actually a wise thing.  Who needs to hear endless noise about stuff that we have no control over anyway?  I myself will definitely be getting out to vote.  There is not a chance in hell that I would miss this in this election.  I don’t think I will ever again not pay attention to everything going on politically, but it is also important to tune it out at times, otherwise a person could go insane paying attention to all the insanity that is playing itself out.  I do though always look to see what Mr. Trump is posting. 🙄
