Time & Conscious Experience
I just had a thought that I believe is important to a sense of peace and the release of unnecessary anxieties. It doesn’t matter what time of day it is. It doesn’t matter if morning has slipped away and become afternoon. It doesn’t matter if the afternoon and evening have slipped away and become night once again. The night will slip away once again and become a new morning. All time is equally valuable and a part of our existence. Every time of the day is ours and an opportunity for us to experience it in a positive manner. If we feel anxiety about time slipping away or having been wasted, then this will take away from our ability to have the most positive experience with the present time in which we exist and find ourselves. It doesn’t matter what time of day it is. It is all ours and every time of the day has value. If we reach the time of the day where we need to sleep again, so what. Sleep and rest rejuvenate us. It’s just a necessary part of our existence before the light of day shines through our windows once again. No time is inherently better or of less value to us. We need to not think of time as something that is squandered or wasted or lost. Wherever we are in time, and whatever time of day it is, it is a time that has potential and value to us. Whether we have just awoken at the start of our day, or we are burning the midnight oil or whether it be any time between these times, it shouldn’t matter. When we need to stop and sleep yet again, that is okay. We shouldn’t let any of our time lose value by feeling stressed about the passage of time or what time it is. The story of our existence and its value always happens exactly where we are. Perhaps our highest states of our spiritual existence and appreciation of meaning are not to be found in a state where we feel constrained by or bound to time. I just got a copy of the book “The Power Of Now A Guide To Spiritual Enlightenment” by Eckhart Tolle to read along with the audio book version. I only got a little beyond the first page of the introduction when I of course had to stop and examine and write about my own thoughts. Our lives and stories are right here in our present.
