Visiting Washington DC & White House Correspondent’s Dinner

 I had been thinking lately that there is no way that I would want to go visit Washington DC at this time.  Ironically, after Mr. Trump’s efforts to make Washington DC so “safe again”, it is probably one of the most unsafe places in the country.  Mr. Trump himself is probably the most targeted person on the planet.  Or he might be tied with his friend Bibi Netanyahu.  There haven’t been any details released yet about the shooter at last night’s White House Correspondent’s Dinner last night.  I’m guessing that it was just some individual who really wants Trump dead and not a terrorist attack.  When were the shots fired though?  Was it just as they were taking him down because in the video where he rushes by the security checkpoint, no one was acting as though gunshots had already happened.  

I just saw that one security officer was shot in the chest, but was wearing a bulletproof vest so he is bruised but okay.

Did this man, Art Laffer, give a speech anywhere yesterday?  I couldn’t find anything online and neither could a couple of AI sources that I read.  Did Mr. Trump just imagine this?  It wouldn’t surprise me at all if this was the case.  Update 12/15/25 As of this time (and I have been looking), I have seen no mention of this Truth Social post of Mr. Trump’s on any of the independent news channels that I like to check for news.   I guess there is always just so much going on with Donald Trump and his regime that no one can pay attention to or keep up with everything.

Hidden Figures

 I’m still watching the movie “Hidden Figures” but it’s an amazing movie.  I take back what I said about rocket scientists.  I only wish that I had that kind of mind and in particular like the minds of the hidden figures.  If I say that I don’t need to be a rocket scientist it is because I couldn’t be a rocket scientist.  People just have to accept their limits and not have a bad attitude about it.  I didn’t really have a bad attitude, but I know that legions of women have dealt with this for just trying to reach their potential.  Also, it crazy to think that things were still so bad for African Americans as late as the 1960s.  I know that things are still far from perfect, but thank goodness for progress!

 How do actors understand and relate so well with the characters they are playing?  Acting ability is definitely a gift and an art even if some people are perhaps resentful or envious of the large amounts of money that actors can potentially earn for their talent.   Human beings very much value and appreciate entertainment, so people who are blessed with a skill for entertainment get to reap its benefits.
