A Woke Organization

 I appreciate that the Daughters of the American Revolution is a woke organization of women even in Texas!  They/we are committed to remembering and honoring all who are a part of our nation’s history.  DAR also acknowledges that without the much needed aid and assistance from France, Spain and other countries, we could not have won our battle for independence.  

Update:  Maybe I should not have used the word acknowledged.  I would imagine that anybody who is knowledgeable about the history of the United States would know that foreign nations were instrumental in helping the colonists gain their independence during the Revolutionary War.  I just hadn’t known that because I am admittedly very unknowledgeable about history.  I never knew about the importance of other nations or people of other groups and ethnicities during the Revolutionary War.  For whatever reason, it wasn’t a subject that held my attention or that I did really well in. 

Maybe I came up with the thought of acknowledgment because it was only recently that the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution started accepting as members, descendants of additional Revolutionary War patriots such as Spanish patriots.
