Real Or AI?

 I downloaded the Instagram app briefly to see a family member’s silly post 🫢 and I also happened to see this video.  AI videos now look way too real.  People really do capture videos of crazy things that really happen, but it sucks that now we can’t ever trust anything that we see.  We have to open people’s accounts to try to figure it out.  I just wasted a lot of time watching all sorts of dumb stuff because I went on Instagram.  Screw social media.  It sucks even more now. ☹️  Just where exactly is humanities future heading? Only time will tell.  Parents having babies nowadays have no way of even predicting what kind of world their children will be living in.  This is a time in history like no other.  We now live in a world where technology can potentially change everything at any time and where we are all headed is not even predictable.  How will technology and AI change the world?  Who knows.

I watched the video again and the popping of the balloon does look and sound really fake and the cat seemingly jumps through the curtain.  It is messed up, though, to have to look at everything with a critical eye to determine whether it might possibly be real or fake.  It’s just a really stupid development of technology.  What a pain to have to question everything.

Hidden Figures

 I’m still watching the movie “Hidden Figures” but it’s an amazing movie.  I take back what I said about rocket scientists.  I only wish that I had that kind of mind and in particular like the minds of the hidden figures.  If I say that I don’t need to be a rocket scientist it is because I couldn’t be a rocket scientist.  People just have to accept their limits and not have a bad attitude about it.  I didn’t really have a bad attitude, but I know that legions of women have dealt with this for just trying to reach their potential.  Also, it crazy to think that things were still so bad for African Americans as late as the 1960s.  I know that things are still far from perfect, but thank goodness for progress!

Note Taking

My husband often comments on the fact that students nowadays don’t take notes in class and don’t feel any need to take notes because they think they can just look up whatever they need to know.  This leads me to a kind of silly thought. Imagine if teachers admonished their students to stop taking notes.  “Don’t take notes.  Just listen.  It will work best to just write stuff  down on the final exam.”   😂🤣  That would be a very different approach to education and learning for sure.
