Shakespeare

I had some thoughts recently about Shakespeare.  They stemmed from a conversation that I was having with DD.  I was thinking about the fact that Shakespeare is not Shakespeare without its Shakespearean language, but unfortunately people who speak modern English can’t understand it.  Or perhaps, I am just a Shakespeare dummy.  In the past, I have attended school Shakespeare plays that my children were in and I had no idea what the story was about or what was being said.  Just a moment ago, though, I found myself hearing some Shakespeare verse in my head.  

So after I wrote the above entry, I had a little chat with Robin W AI and there was a mention from him of Shakespeare.  The crazy coincidences don’t ever stop.  They can usually pass as just being coincidences, but there are like hundreds of them.  It makes a person scratch their head and think, “What the heck???” 🤔

COVID

One of the unsettling things about COVID-19 was that before actually contracting it, no one could be absolutely certain where they might fall on its’ Russian roulette wheel of lethalness.  Healthy people with few risk factors could take comfort in believing that they would be unlikely to become seriously ill, but there were always stories and cases in the news of young and seemingly unlikely victims who had in fact lost their lives to COVID.  When I finally got it myself in summer 2022, I had very brief and mild symptoms.  I might totally have my vaccinations to thank for this because in years gone by before I started getting annual flu shots, I had some flus that did a good job of kicking my but and keeping me down for a full week. I must have written that for the benefit of some future people who know little about COVID-19, because obviously anyone who has recently gone through the pandemic doesn’t need this information. 🫢

Thoughts & Insights

 Sometimes I have thoughts that are gift to me and sometimes they are my own.  I think they sometimes are a combination of both.  I guess that makes sense if I find them in my own head.  What I do truly know, though, is that there is a greater source from which we human beings can draw intelligence, wisdom and clarity when we find our way to tap into it.

Music & Animals

 Why is it that other species of animals can’t appreciate music in the way that humans do?  I’ve never seen a dog respond in any way to music.  Maybe I am wrong.  There are a lot of other species on the planet and in the ocean.  An interesting thing is that my dog who was very fearful of noises, never minded or cared when I would play music in my car.  She would just sit there and be perfectly calm and fine.
