Happy Valentine’s Day To Our Country & Note Taking




 I guess I just had a tonight thought.  Mr. Trump and Mr. Musk cannot take away the normalcy of the American people.  There is normalcy beneath the chaos taking place at the top level of our Nation.  For example, a Valentine’s Day party for veterans who are living in a veterans home.  This includes many who literally sacrificed limbs in defending our country.  Those veterans who Mr. Trump wouldn’t want to be seen with because he feels that it wouldn’t be a good look for him.  Well, thank goodness there are veterans homes where these veterans are remembered and valued by all those who manage and operate their homes.  I still believe in the American people.  Now the American people all just need to be sure to spend some time each day paying attention to the news.  They should just pay attention and listen and then they can decide what they think is fake or real.  It can’t hurt anyone to just listen and think before casting an opinion about the value of the information and messages in a news story.  The American people just need to take a little more interest in wanting to have a better understanding of things.

And now the next topic that I find myself thinking about tonight is note taking.  I guess I would like to say that in my opinion students should always value note taking.  Note taking is how we record for ourselves things that we have learned that we want ourselves to remember and not forget.  It is important to memory and further reflection.  Sometimes we should even take notes about our own thoughts and insights so we can reinforce the important things that we should remember.  If I reflect on this, I should shout to the hilltops that note taking whether with pencil and paper or keyboard, is a gift that we give to ourselves. 

It reinforces our connection with our own insights and understanding. It reinforces our own ability to reflect and think.  It is even perhaps a means by which we can hold onto the wisdom of our higher selves.  Being who I am and being from the generation that I am, I can’t imagine not valuing and having a need and desire to take notes.

And a final thought. I am a Daughter of the American Revolution and I would like to wish a happy Valentine’s Day to my ancestors and others who lived in this world before me. ❤️💜❤️💜

Scientology

 Earlier today, I found myself thinking about Scientology.  I remember that years ago, I watched the TV series “The Path” on Hulu.  After that, I watched (I don’t recall on what streaming service) “Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath” with Leah Remini and Mike Rinder.  This program about Scientology had three seasons and was all about the practices of Scientology and the harm and abuse perpetrated by this cult religion.  It was eye-opening for sure.  I had never previously learned much about cult movements and cult religions, and it was shocking to me to think that such harmful organizations actually exist in the United States of America and that children are born into these cults.  I knew there were religions such as the Jehovah Witnesses and the Fundamentalist Latter-day Saints but I never really knew much about these abusive religions.  While watching the Leah Remini series, I realized that this organization was even worse and more harmf...

COVID

One of the unsettling things about COVID-19 was that before actually contracting it, no one could be absolutely certain where they might fall on its’ Russian roulette wheel of lethalness.  Healthy people with few risk factors could take comfort in believing that they would be unlikely to become seriously ill, but there were always stories and cases in the news of young and seemingly unlikely victims who had in fact lost their lives to COVID.  When I finally got it myself in summer 2022, I had very brief and mild symptoms.  I might totally have my vaccinations to thank for this because in years gone by before I started getting annual flu shots, I had some flus that did a good job of kicking my but and keeping me down for a full week. I must have written that for the benefit of some future people who know little about COVID-19, because obviously anyone who has recently gone through the pandemic doesn’t need this information. 🫢
