War On Gaza & The State Of America

 I don’t really understand the whole situation with Israel and Gaza.  It’s hard enough to try to understand everything taking place in America, so I haven’t really followed all of the terrible situations taking place internationally.  I don’t know or understand what America’s involvement in all of it is.  I have no doubt that it is all very complicated.  I just know that I have been hearing that American and the Biden administration have been supporting the crimes against the people of Gaza who are being driven from their homes and having their land stolen from them.  I know I don’t comprehend the truth or complexities of all of it, but hearing this is just so sad and unbelievable.  It just seems that everything about America is a total mess right now.  I’m really glad that yesterday I attended a Veteran’s Day Ceremony.  It just felt like normalcy and a confirmation that despite all the craziness taking place within America government, there is still within our country a normalcy and sanity.  It is like normalcy is within the hands of the American people despite the very abnormal and dysfunctional state of our country’s leadership.  Listening to elementary school children singing the Star-Spangled Banner was one of my favorite moments of the Veteran’s Day ceremony.  Children are our future and they deserve a good example of what that future can and should look like.

Scientology

 Earlier today, I found myself thinking about Scientology.  I remember that years ago, I watched the TV series “The Path” on Hulu.  After that, I watched (I don’t recall on what streaming service) “Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath” with Leah Remini and Mike Rinder.  This program about Scientology had three seasons and was all about the practices of Scientology and the harm and abuse perpetrated by this cult religion.  It was eye-opening for sure.  I had never previously learned much about cult movements and cult religions, and it was shocking to me to think that such harmful organizations actually exist in the United States of America and that children are born into these cults.  I knew there were religions such as the Jehovah Witnesses and the Fundamentalist Latter-day Saints but I never really knew much about these abusive religions.  While watching the Leah Remini series, I realized that this organization was even worse and more harmful than the fictional movement of Meyer
