The Golden Bachelor

 I haven’t watched any reality TV shows in a long time and for the most part I really don’t care for them, particularly bachelor or bachelorette shows where the possible matches for the bachelor or bachelorette are eliminated by them, one by one.  My mother feels the same way about bachelor/bachelorette programs, but there is one airing now that she couldn’t resist watching because the bachelor is a 72 year old man.  It is called the “The Golden Bachelor”.  I watched the episode, with her, where he is down to 3 women and he goes to their homes and meets their closest family members.  At the end of the show he was supposed to eliminate one woman, but he was really upset by this and couldn’t do it, so the episode was left to be continued next week.  Watching just this one show from this series, it reaffirmed for me that these shows are terrible and they should stop making them.  They are just setting people up to have difficult and painful emotional experiences for viewer entertainment.  People obviously volunteer to be on the shows, but that doesn’t mean that they should be produced. 😒
